Code of Ethics
In keeping with Jewish tradition, the Jewish Community of Ojai is a place where people of all faiths can come together to learn, grow, and connect with each other. We believe in the power of love, compassion, community and creativity to create a better world.
Our code of ethics is based on these principles.
Our Values:

Equality and Justice
We believe that everyone is created equal and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other factor.
By this, We can offer scholarships to people of all backgrounds who want to attend our temple's programs. We also have a policy of non-discrimination in all aspects of our temple's operations.
Love and Compassion
We believe that love and compassion are the most powerful forces in the universe and that they can transform the world. We strive to live our lives with love and compassion for ourselves, for others, and for all of creation.
JCO offers a variety of programs and services that are designed to promote equality, love and compassion, such as our Men's and Women's group, our Torah Study program, our annual warm coats drive and our annual food drive.
Environmental Sustainability
We believe that we have a responsibility to care for the Earth and all of its creatures. We commit to living in a way that is sustainable and that does not harm the environment.
Example: We have a certified building, which means that it is designed to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. We also have a recycling program and programmable utility conservation program.
